History of CIDEF
A look back at the first editions of the international doctoral conference.
Doctoral students at the Nantes Education Research Centre (CREN) organised their first international doctoral conference in 2011. This first scientific event focused on bringing together young researchers, comparing opinions, discovering research topics and sharing knowledge. The interdisciplinary nature of the workshops allowed for the comparison of different contributions (in sociology, psychology, didactics, etc.) on the same subject.
Building on this initial success, CREN doctoral students organised a second conference in 2013. In 2016, during the third conference, an initial partnership was formed with doctoral students from the Centre de Recherche pour l’Éducation les Apprentissages et la Didactique de Rennes (CREAD). For the 2018 edition, the organisation was entrusted to CREAD doctoral students, supported by their colleagues at CREN. In 2020, CIDEF was organised by CREN doctoral students, again in partnership with CREAD doctoral students... Since 2018, CIDEF has been organised jointly by doctoral students from both laboratories every two years.
CIDEF 2026 is therefore the eighth edition of this event organised by and for doctoral students and young doctors.
